I'm really glad they added the loot boxes so people could have another avenue to complete their various IE collections. Getting the Craghorn Chasm-Leaper was the most daunting mount to acquire by conventional runs and it took me nearly 20 boxes just to get a single Adventurous Hopling Pack. The salvage crates may be considered lootboxes and yet another form of RNG that Blizzard loves to heap upon us, but they're far more reliable and actually let you target specific mounts without the added frustration of receiving a duplicate Squawks for example once you've already learned it. You'll still get duplicate pets, transmog items and far too many reputation tokens but the odds of getting epic mounts from crate more than make up for it to me and hopefully a lot of grateful collectors out there.
You can't get Island Thundercale from Crestfall box, it's only from Jorundall
I opened like 6 or 7 boxes and got 4 mounts or so. =)

If I am to understand the purpose of these crates, the mounts are obtainable through completing island expeds. The crates are like...an added bonus. I personally enjoy expeditions and farming these up
now only if blizz wasnt so skimpy on basic loot - to - time invested. it might be worth it
Booohooo, wheres my havenswood... I need my risen mare ;~;
