I would like it if they could some how include older crafting materials in this system tbh.
I want to personally thank anyone who came up with system ..is is awesomeness I love crafting gear it gives me a lot of joy that I will be able to do this again without having to step a foot into mythic which I do not and will not participate in. As long as I can get the regents from the npc I kill that is all I need..Thank you "SUPER BIG HUG"
I see it more like exclusive buffs on your gear (whichever source it may be) than profession crafted gear here, so even when the raid drops, your profession will still be useful.
If you put the site into beta and look at professions you can see some changes. They covered this a week ago.Us engineers currently have covenant themed gliders , in combat holy grenades (hopefully useable on the run again ) , shadow trip mines, teleporter like blink to make for anyone, magnetic knives belt , and a bouncing Betty grenade.
Now do you know what would be cool ? (But yeah I know not every people think like me on this) It would be to get a special reagent a bit like expulsom, sanguicell, breath of bwonsamdi from high tier gear, not bound so that you could also trade it, that would allow you to craft gear from the same tier. And of course the gear you would craft with it would not be bound so that you can trade it. It would allow people to have relevant profession and creating an economy, the raiders or pvpers provide the raw materials, crafters transform it and then it come back to raiders or pvpers, and nobody have to do what they don't like as we can focus on what we like.

Amazing. Though I don't know what the final system will include, I'd just be happy with 1) the ilvl upgrade slot and 2) the socket or guarantee a secondary stat slot.
I hope they give some of that Blacksmithing stuff to Leatherworkers and Tailors (or make them armor-type-specific needs). LW has been screwed for several expansions now.
Any system that reduces RNG and lets players customize is goooood for the game.I know developers generally think it's a fail when 99.9% of the users pick the same thing - but that is inevitable and it's ok.
But unless crafted items are worthwhile this time its just flavor to an outdated system. As many have pointed out basic drops will outpace crafted and there is little profit to be made unless you get in the door early. I certainly hope they change things up to fill the mid to late game or this system doesnt amount to much in the long run of an expansion.
To make professions useful to me, the most important thing is if I will be able to sell crafted gear. In BfA everything besides low level was BoP, the only things I could sell are things like hoofplates. That's not a profession, that's a hobby.

Question so is there going to be shadowlands tailoring etc..cause the example shows zandalar?
for some reason, "Alchemy Concoction effects are limited to Cloaks" doesn't make me feel that bad about not finishing my Black Prince cloak quests on all my active toons!
