Five confirmation windows will not be enough to prevent some from regretting their choice and come crying to Blizzard CS demanding for assistance.
IN THE FOLLOWING I WILL PROVIDE ARGUMENTS AGAINST ALL THE ARGUMENTS THAT PEOPLE BRING UP AGAINST THE FREE CHANGEBILITY OF COVENANT ABILITIES. I will quote all the different arguments and then respond to each of them briefly.Everything is split in sections that comprise the same arguments.Table of content1. "Its like classes/factions/races!"2. "Just the 1% are complaining. Only min-maxing elitists!"3. "But the lore and RP though!"4. "WoW is also an RPG!"5. "Just make Alts if u want to use other covenant abilities!"6. "Who cares about the small pvp community lul!"7. "Choices should matter. I want to restrict others of choices and interfere with their game experience instead of focusing on my own!"____________________________________1. "Its like classes/factions/races!"
"We want MEANINGFUL CHOICES"Yeah like the loyalist questline with Sylvanas right ?Million dollar game company who is not willing to put a penny into their game and also has the audacity to do the exact opposite of what their playerbase want to improve the game. And here we are as magpies paying each month. They truly are evil masterminds.
I know that without Echoing void in month of arena noone would take me into the party past 1.8k. If i queued up to key regarded higher (not even high, with me having higher keys done previously anyway) as a warlock i would be insta declined. If i was a shadowpriest in Ny'alotha i would be benched on 90% of the bosses. The hell you mean we lock ourselves from content. Its players perception and it will never change. Its human instinct to go with whatever in ur opinion has highest chance of success. If we wipe on dps check boss 20 times, and i play covenant i picked so i can push keys but is not ideal for the ST or burst dps, I WILL be benched and laughed at as the person holding up the progress. Therefore as a raider i am declined opportunity to push keys instantly or arenas as i will be declined straight up based on covenant. We decline people based on their ilvl for godness sake, without even talking to them and disregarding their experience. How do you really think this is going to go?
All the casual/lfr raiders acting all morally superior when their "meaningful choice" means they finish WQ 10 sec faster or slower. Or kill old raid bosses faster or slower farming for transmog. If you only play 1 spec and do only 1 type of content, YOU WILL HAVE NO MEANINGFUL CHOICE. If you think its meaningful, please do tell me how exactly its meaningfull for someone who doesnt raid end game and doesnt do keys. What hard stuck tradeoffs do they do and commit to? There will be 1 clearly superior to others icy veins will tell you to pick and you will play that. I hate people that it just doesnt affect at all willing to sh on other players party just because it affects them more because they enjoy this game in different way. And go on tell me how its only 1% difference choice and min maxing when mediocre vs top tier coruptions for my character is literally 33% of my output.
This all foregoes a single fundamental issue that makes the whole system way worse than it is: the fact that you need to change your covenant _in order to use their transmogs, pets and mounts_.I can understand the whole thing about the abilities (so you don't change them between bosses), but why force people to do it all just to change cosmetics? Not to mention that of my 12 characters, I now have to choose which Covenant to join for each not by lore reasons, but by the fact which armor set I like more?
And I think you are in a minority grp when it comes to want to change covenants.
Why can't we just pledge ourselves to 2 covenants? I like playing different specs within the same class and m+, raid, and pvp. I would love to swap to any cov but really I could live with just 2 covenants to keep the "rpg choice"
For those who want to test all covenants. Just test all the covenants and in the end you will just do the quest for the one you want. You really are making this a bigger problem than it is.
