Jeez, since when is everyone so hardcore? I bet the same people complaining about "not being in the optimal covenant" are the same that can't be bothered to take food/runes/vantus/flask and tomes to swap azerite/talents at every boss and different sets.Oh but now they care about min-maxing. Just STFU, the ~1k dps a different covenant would give you won't affect you.
I dont think this is meant to stop player from swapping between covenants for raiding one week and mythic+ the next but instead stopping players from swapping between each boss of a raid.Boss 1: night faeBoss 2: necroBoss 3: kyrianBoss 4: necroEtc.
covenant abilities restrictedNEGATIVEwill affect ppl who min/max, high end players, general players who care about their power, people forced to pick a certain covenant from a guide cause they care about dps/tank/healing at the best but then have to forgo covenant choice for armor/rewards/theme/side-game/RP/so on, blizzard balance will never be good meaning if anything changes with ability powers = people will be forced to change, pvp players, people who want to test the abilities, multi-spec playersNEUTRALthose who don't care/don't know/so on POSITIVEthose who want "choice" and RPG________________________________________________covenant abilities freely changeable (though restrict them in instances so you can't just change abilities per boss) NEGATIVEnoneNEUTRALthose who don't caresome of the people who care about choice and RPG might be a bit unhappy, but come on... there is still A LOT of choice with covenants: RP, matching class to covenant, theme, zone, covenant exclusive story, soul-binds, covenant characters, armor sets, movement abilities, side game thing, cosmetic rewards annnd so on. If you really think covenant ability being made free will utterly destroy all the choice in covenants or that the covenant abilities are the only "choice" in covenants, then you aren't looking at what they offer :/ POSITIVEtesting covenant abilities, multi-spec players, people who min/mix, high end players, general players who care even if they don't do highest content, pvp players, those who want choice/RPG and realise that covenant choice are not restricted to just the abilities, as mentioned above_______________________________________so looking at the two design paths:why are there people who want to go with the design that has a clear negative outcome for many players (and just cause some of those people are "min-maxers" or high end raiders, doesn't mean their opinion and fun should be disregarded... also there are many players who don't do the highest end content but still care about being the best version they can be with the time they have) when there is a design path that, at worst, has few more neutrals in it but no real negative outcome?
