Wait, there was an upper portal room? I thought there was just that one portal room jam-packed with gateways to other expansions.
Just wanting a proper sick portal room, I really dig the Stormwind one.
I agree, the Org portal room is kinda ..not as good as the Alliance one. Hopefully they'll redesign Org's portal room layout to make it flow better.
Good nerf. Running up a few steps was way to difficult!
Small but good quality of life changes here overall. Personally I like the Org portal room, aside from its maybe peculiar placement of portals. I guess something like the old Dal portal is relevant again with the pre patch tho..Stormwind's is visually stunning by comparison but Horde is maybe mechanically efficient by a few seconds of run time? Spiraling staircases make me a smidge dizzy heh.We do have a Dark Portal NPC too, but sometimes they just dont have the option to teleport, makes no sense to me not having a portal since it bugs out this way super often, and theres plenty of room in Org at least. -u-'
like... there are sooooo many issues with the game, and yet, for something so simple like a portal room, people stilllll gotta complain. lol, if we focused on actual problems, and didn't !@#$% and moan about every. little. thing. maybe blizzard would take us a bit more seriously
Are people really praising the Alliance portal room that much? Sure, it looks nice on the inside, but actually GETTING TO THEM is a thousand times more annoying than the Horde one.Horde: Located within/below the city gates, well guarded, and plenty of space; allowing both for rapid movement of troops while also having sufficient security in case of break in/teleport shennanigains. Portals are arrayed out in a circle with no blind spots, corners, or wasted space. NPCs and troops can regularly be seen moving in and out of here. Expansion to the portal room is less obvious but completely logical and extendable.Alliance: Located in some kind of magic room at the top of a winding tower in the middle of a civilian district. Nearly impossible to get to in a timely manner, both for player characters and in lore. Only a single file line of adventurers can even make it in and out, completely nullifying the point of a portal nexus. Layout is open and pretty, but there's a lot of wasted space. And why does a portal nexus need to be pretty? Ideally, one should be spending as little time in there as possible- kind of like airports. Aesthetics are important, but function should come first.Sounds to me that Alliance players don't want to admit they got jipped in the portal room department. Slightly better aesthetics can't outweigh ease of use, efficiency, and lore compatibility.
Thank heavens
Wait. There are two floors in that building?
At least one change that makes sense, we'll be using the current content portal far more than the other ones after all.
Why did the move two portals to make room for one? They could just get rid of the Warspear one since we have the garrison hearthstone anyway and the layout would be almost perfect; or the azsuna one because we already have the dalaran hearthstone.Anyway good change, getting to Oribos was painful on horde side.
man... I didn't even know there was a lower floor till this post..
I said from the start when they ripped out the old portals that these rooms would have these issues. The Stormwind one was smartly designed with room for expansion (including the fact they can literally redesign the room to make the two wings off it longer to fit more portals) but the Org one as a circle is stuck, it can't be expanded so they have to shuffle portals around. Too bad no one on the design team could have foreseen this.
...wait... there are 2 floors?
