Some of those pages appear full of typos and writing errors. I'm still getting the book for the illustrations at least but this appears really poorly written according to those few excerpts.
Delay.... delay....delay..... again this doesn't look great for Shadowlands as a whole. I fear that they will start rushing stuff and start throwing stuff out the window just like with Warlords.
Guess they cant even release a book without glitches
Amazon updated their sales release to Nov. 24 (I just checked, mine's on reserve). There may be other reasons than the delay of the expac that could be blamed. Publishing is a whole different world than game design. You have the creation stuff, then the edits (oh gawds, the edits). Pre-press can take months, depending on how you are publishing. Then there's the actual printing. Blizz will be different than my books in that they are ordering big print runs of thousands at a time, and I just do 25-50 at a time. With big print runs, you have all the paper, ink, plates, etc. The covers are different too, the "ingredients" for a cover are more than a picture and blurb when you have a hardback. At any time the printer may be out of one of those ingredients and that delays the run. Pile Covid on the top of it, with people trying to work from home or having to be out sick, and you've got delays. I'm not sure who does Blizz's printing (they are listed as their own publisher for ISBN and records) but if they were in somewhere like California or New York, where things were shut down for months and no one was working in-house, that's another delay. Software can be pushed from home, thankfully, because my husband is here in Texas and his servers are in Ohio and he's worked from home daily. But printing is hands-on with lots of people doing many things that can't be done from home (inking, maintenance, changing paper rolls, QA, pulling off printer and stacking/boxing and more.)Then their supply chain for those ingredients may have been locked down and they don't have the paper, ink, whatever to send to the printer. Delay.I am willing to wait, it'll be here when it's here. (and yes, I'm a published author who does indie publishing and some small in-house for other authors, so I know what goes on).
well well well ... what a suprise ^^
I got a feeling this wouldn't be good in audio book format. That's the way I've "read" the other warcraft books. What do you guys think?
