I don't get how this is even a tough decision.1. Transition current servers to progressive TBC servers.2. Allow players to transfer a copy of their character to "forever classic" servers.3. Start fresh classic servers.Two years from now:1. Transition TBC servers to progressive WotLK servers.2. Allow players to transfer a copy of their character to "forever TBC" servers.3. Transition the now 2yr old classic servers to progressive TBC servers allowing those players to transfer character copies to the "forever classic" servers.Two more years from now:1. Current WotLK servers become "forever WotLK" servers.2. Current TBC servers transition to WotLK and offer character copies to "forever TBC" servers.3. Current Classic servers transition to TBC and offer character copies to "forever classic" servers.4. New Classic servers launch.Two more years from now:1. Current WotLK servers merger into the forever WotLK servers.2. Current TBC becomes progressive WotLK and offer character copies to forever TBC3. Current classic becomes progressive TBC and offer character copies to forever classic.4. New classic servers launch.5. Repeat 1-4 every 2 years.
Well...since they obvs. haven't decided on this already. TBC could be further away than at least I thought (Announcement on BlizzCon in Feb with Beta start soonish, 1 month beta like Classic and launch about March/April). Shadowlands delay + Corona + Fire could have delayed stuff ofc.
I played 8+ years of WOTLK private and I would start to play this expansion again without a doubt. Love the dual talents, for me the best thing with transmog from cata.Also, Im interested in TBC. I would like to play classes that I didnt like feral druid.

Fresh TBC servers IMO! Scratches the itch for fresh servers + gives people TBC at the same time.Existing Classic characters should remain.
Not gonna lie. As a retail-exclusive player, I am jealous of those who received this kind of survey. I wish retail players--and classic players, too--were asked about their opinions more regularly.ETA: Opinions and, in this case, their intentions/motivations for playing.

Current classic vanilla servers should remain. They should make TBC servers where we can transfer our classic characters to. So much TIME and WORK go into classic characters, that expecting people to restart on a fresh server is not good. People started over on private servers because there was a CONSTANT SEARCH for the best server, with existing servers constantly being shut down. A lot of people do not like re-rolling, and only did it out of necessity.When the classic vanilla servers population drops, they can connect servers.Leaving behind classic vanilla entirely is a mistake, because that is how we got private servers. Let forever vanilla people have their legitimate forever vanilla server.
From discussing this with people over the past year, I think there really need to be 2 options:
