The amount of people who have no idea what the story is talking about is funny. He wanted to protect Ursoc, but they prioritized sending anima towards the grove of awakening, where spirits are ripe for rebirth. And Aralon basically got killed by the Drust. Justice for "bear fwend" will be claimed when we kill the Jailer. There is no justice in killing Aralon only sadness and wasted potential. Still not as bad as Margrave Krexus dying offscreen, while he was on every promotional material.
I honestly forgot who Ara'lon was after I killed him. Thanks for the reminder.And the finale was underwhelming. That goes for bad story-writing.
So, what is happening to the souls that die in the Shadowlands? Are they gone for good?

You hate to see it
'Pointless' is a good word for this. The character didn't have any time to develop or breathe before they just killed him. I feel like they are doing that too much in this expansion. I am... getting a little tired of the longstanding WoW characters. I think some should be sunsetted like Illidan was. However, the team needs to give new characters enough time to evolve into new favorites. I would much rather have seen more quests with Ara'lon, Niya, Dreamweaver, Lord Hern, Moonberry, etc... than more about Tyrande and Vol'jin. Their stories are so convoluted by now that I just can't get that invested anymore.I haven't gotten a chance to play through Revendreth or Maldraxxus, but I enjoyed the Kyrian ending much more. At least all of those characters lived to be further developed. I enjoyed seeing the arc continue with Pelagos, for example. It is easier for me to remain invested in the Kyrian story because I've quested consistently with the same characters. This was a more entertaining direction for me. All of this said- I didn't totally hate the rest of the Night Fae finale. I thought the scenario was very cool and there were several (other) bright spots about the quest. This was probably my favorite part of the chain from a gameplay perspective.
The fact that he conspicuously wasn't a soul-bind option for Night Fae characters was already a pretty obvious death flag hanging over his head ;...;
I found the Bastion chapter in Aerdenwald more sad then the Night Fae ending...'A thorn in my side until the very end. But I wouldn't have it any other way.'
I can't even remember if we interacted with him in-game so his death came as a surprise to me.Because I forgot who he was.
What about the Night Warrior? and Mueh'zala? Bwonsamdi/Vul'Jins quest line? How can this be the end of a campaign when there's so much left wide open?
Good! Goood! (Zul's voice)
Introduce two new characters that were interesting in the trailers, Aralon and Devos, and they kill both off with minimal time given to their story. Im getting burnt out on all of the deaths and "muh sacrifices", particularly as a Nelf druid main. And especially when they keep shilling certain characters who've long past worn out their welcome.Deaths aside, Ardenweald is the only campaign Ive finished so far, and the ending was meh. I wish the Drust were more than moustache twirling villians who want to destroy Ardenweald for the lulz. Drustvar gave them a more interesting motive; their leader was angry that Human settlers invaded and wiped out their race, save for a few who assimilated and sided with the Humans.
Poor Ara'lon, I knew him well ... actually not. At least not even as much as I would care about his death more than if it were any other friendly Night Fae.
personally ended up the most disappointing covenant story wise. Bastion Started well, it was solid and the story went good too. The middle was trash, the ending was good. Middle - disappointment with Devos. There is no explanation on why she decided to side with the Jailer. The marketing of Forsworn is 'the system of Kyrians are not good we are turning a blind eye to things'. Which is really good I expected a lot with that. But then oh yeah Jailer will help us. But he is the bad guy. Did Jailer lie to Devos ? then why is Lysonia being so hot for some Jailer meat ? or did Lysonia betray Devos ? This really needed more context. Maldraxus, the afterworlds was disappointing. But ended up one of the most fun stories. There was no deep lore to facinate, but at the same time, it was really good doing the quests. I felt it was a fun journey over all. Just feel sad the big guy had to die. He was a solid dude who was like the dude. They have to work on Aggra more than being just 'hey i am thralls mom'. Because Ashbringer stole the light for me. Revendreth. Really good. From the afterlives to the story. Nothing in this zone is morally good, nothing is morally bad either. Its so much like walking into a canteen in Mos Eisley. The team that did this story went all out to have fun. Nightfae. My disappointment. I never wanted to go night fae till the Ursoc animation. That was big mega hype. I got really geared in mind. Then the story just ended up being well... what the hell I am doing ? The Ysera moment was good. But thats it. Winter Queen keeps saying we must make sacrifices to save the weald. But isnt it getting beaten to #$%^ ? Moonberry keeps saying she is busy but at the same time taking care of all, but what the hell is she busy with ? she just stands there with a resting b*** face. Like, if she is busy, dont show her or show she is busy. The Lord Maldraxxus dude, is dead and only a memory remains. Yet I felt he was far more impactful leader because he investigated the ordeal and tried to warn everyone. That guy rocks.
