Barely anything for a corporation as big as they are, the CEO himself has a net worth in the billions. Keep in mind, a large portion of employees at Blizzard still go hungry and or are homeless. This is just them trying to buy good, cheap PR. $1.6 mil is pathetic in these terms. If I donated 1 USD, it would be a larger portion of my net worth than this 1.6mil is to Bobby's. And this didn't even come out of his pocket, either. You know where this did come from? The employee's lunch and pay. If anything, this is an insult to the employees whom are grossly underpaid. But There are already people here rushing to the defense of Activision because "Company gave to charity? Company good now!"Pathetic.
These comments are assuming they received no bonuses/etc. outside of this and that is probably a silly assumption.
I'm glad these charities got this money, that's great. But to put this in perspective, in 2019 actiBlizzard made 1.5B in profit. This is like if someone who makes $100,000 a year donated $80 and went around telling everyone how generous they are. Shameful PR stunt, especially considering how horribly they compensate their employees.
How about Heroes of the Sports and Heroes of the Storm esports? Charity money please?
but they underpay those employees
I don't want to sound like its a bad thing, but There are hundreds of people leaving their games due performance of the game itself (hack attacks, server lags etc.) Instead of donating money, they should upgrade their server protection and server itself, maybe then the game won't lag when on Classic WoW new raid comes up and on retail when there is gathering of more than 40 people
Wow! This is great! Thank you!

I can't believe people fall for this corporate PR horse&*!@e. What an absolute mess. Pay your workers livable wages for the work they do and THEN donate to charity, and cut the CEO's paycheck while you're at it. smh.
I bet the employees would of rather had the money, because you know forgoing lunch to just put a roof over their head is pretty charitable.
Maybe give it to the underpayed employees next time? And when the workers are paid, donate. Or better yet, invest it on servers so a zone isnt unplayable every reset day
Reading the past news they should rather give that money TO THEIR OWN EMPLOYEES NOT EARNING ENOUGH TO BUY FOOD!
Would of been better if Blizzard actually donated the money to the employees directly.. considering how much of a scummy company they've been the past year or two with the employee cuts, etc.
Wish they had a charity pet this season :(
Well, I don't know about 2019-2020 because the former is not publicly available and the later is not happened yet, but in 2018 AB made $447 million in the US (tax evasion is a form of art nowadays) and US tax payers had to pay $228 million back to Activision Blizzard.I bet it was the same in last year and will be the same this year as well. So, I congratulate the US citizens and thank their generosity.Yaaaaay, I guess…
