I found none of these on a recent trip to gather vibrant plumes. Only bears and spiders in the area of map shown as being populated... so, they must not be all too common here.

The greys they drop sell for 10s and more at the merchant, except the beaks.

From what I could tell, only 2 of these, one north of the road, and one south of the road. Not much for farming.

Surprisingly difficult tame.

#1 As stated by others, it's a very limited spawn, maybe 2 at a time in different areas, in the general vicinity of The Bulwark.
#2 They fly a route, like a patrol.
#3 They range from L50 to L52, so even if you find one, it might not be the right level.
#4 There's tons of bears and spiders in the area that are abnormally aggressive and will wander into aggro range.
#5 This bird has a stun, which will break your tame.

Your best bet, is to be patient. Watch the route first. Then set up a good ambush along the route. Clear the area with a disposable pet. Of course, set a freeze trap someplace good. Concussive Shot, then start your tame to give yourself a couple of extra seconds. Hopefully the trap will last long enough, and you won't be bothered any bear or spider respawns.

These guys have both level 3 Screech and Dive. Pretty efficient... I'm trying to get Spiteflayer for the 1.2 attack speed, but I guess this guy would be a good consolation prize if Spiteflayer never shows.
