These guys really do "wander." Don't expect to find them quickly because they take long strolls through the entire zone. I followed the path of the many different coordinates on the map and eventually stumbled upon one.

You can usually find at least one by the hyppogryphs in the southern part of the high wilderness

One wanders just a little above Camp Mojache too, around the gnoll camps there.

The map here shows a good idea of the paths that they will be on. When I did the treant quest, I got the one that paths the cliffs just above morache, one that paths near the silithid and gnoll camps to the south, and the one that paths near the hippogryphs and ogres in the high wilderness.

Me and a buddy were doing the quest to find these, and we found the spawn point for one of them which is:
57,73.

The mob will respawn once every ten min. That will save you some time running around trying to find them :)

Found Wandering Forest Walkers in the Lower Wilds of Feralas, at and between co-ords 78,44 and 80,45. They are scarce, and I had to wait for the same ones to respawn but was eventually able to complete the 'Natural Materials' and 'Treant Muisek' quests which are both found in Feralas at the camp.

Found one spawning at 74.38 in Feralas. He then wanders down to the main road.

I found mine in th lower wilds, near all the Gnolls. While I write this, im waiting for the damn thing to respawn.

They all walk by 55,63. Wait long enough, you'll get as many as you want.

Soloed these with ease on my rogue. My shaman cant, even though he is 50. They heal, but are also almost TOTALY immune to earthshock. So you have to deal more damage than they heal.... and they heal a LOT. At one point i was down to like 5% and he turned his back on me and healed, i tryed to interupt with earth shock, and i got resisted. he then healed another 3 times in a row to about 80% health. By that time i was compleatly out of mana.

I also found mine in the field of giants, NW of the zone. About the hardest plase to try solo one is with mobs running all around the place, and giants wondering everyware.

Hate this mob, and if it wasnt for the fact my main attacks are all nature damage, he would be easy.

Just wait at Feralas 58,74 for them to spawn and kill som ogres while waiting. And as others have said, kill them there, or they will start wondering all over the woods.

I think there is 5 possible spots to find these. Only 1 spawns at each area at a time.

If you can't interupt them when they try to heal or drain their mana they can be a problem.

I soloed them with my 48 shaman was kind of tuff but I did it.

Hi,

Sorry but me and my lvl 50 Druid couldn't kill it. I need to run away :P Maybe that a feralbuild would've killed it, but I couldn't.

They regen mana VERY fast

These are very easy to take down.

They don't have as much health as other Elite mobs. That is compensated by their healing spell which has a very low cooldown timer (unlike most healing mobs).
The easy part is that they don't have much mana either. So basically drain their mana or interrupt their 2-3 sec heals and you have a very easy kill.

ow with low mana I mean around 1500-2000. My lvl 50 hunter simply used 2 viper stings (drain 848 mana each) to totally drain their manapool. Then kept a viper sting up to stop their mana regeneration.

I wonder why they took the elite-ness off. They didnt change the quest that says you should be level 50 to kill them. I was wondering why you should be level 50 to kill a level 41-46. Didnt make much sense to me till i read the previous post.

I farmed the Hippogryphs for metalic fragments and as i did so i just killed the ones that came by.

Soloed a level 44 without any problem as a 45 shadow priest. Fear, silence and mana burn are your friends.

These are VERY rare. We think we found the spawn point for one at Thottbot loc 58,74, south of the Ruins of Isildien. One spanwned about every 5-7 minutes there. We killed hippogriffs and ogres while we waited.

I'm waiting for him at the coords given and he is not spawning, I killed all the mobs around this location and waited 10 min and still no show. The ogres re spawn before this guy does! I don't see a BIG tree, there are two medium sized trees here at 58,74. I dunno ill wait a little longer, hopefully i haven't died while typing this! lol

how to make this quick for Splintered log? Go to the 57.48. 73 .52 in feralas, clear all enemies here
they walk around this area so kill enemies around this spot and wait for it to come here. There is only one spawned at a time,so you will have to wait for it to respawn after you kill one.

At 58.2, 74.5 I saw one spawn two different times. Each time they just sort of fell out of the sky lol.

World of Warcraft Classic:

Spawn at: 68,60

Spawn time: timed at 7 minutes

Stay around coordinates 68,60 and kill Wolves and Bears or even Gnolls during the 7 minutes downtime. Spawns at these exact coordinates.

Track Elementals for hunters is extremely useful to find these, as there are very few other elementals in the zone.

Preferred Spawn Location (Near the ruins and ogres)

The wanderers literally spawn and drop from the sky at exactly 58.37, 74.56.
The re-spawn time is exactly 6 minutes from kill to spawn on all locations.
There is not a spawn bug when they spawn.
They visually hit the ground, and then physically spawn after 10 seconds on all locations.
There are 3 birds pathing near the tree, and 3 ogres on the building's platform that path back and forth.

Special Note: There seems to be disputes on timers. Users have reported 7 8 and 9 minutes spawns.
Special Note: Immune to nature damage (IE: Earth shock)

Special Note: Yarol mentioned using your phone for a timer. Added in the classic release is the clock feature (which didn't exist until 2008). If you click on the clock (time), you can use the stopwatch. It is a simple stopwatch, hit the play icon and it will start. Hit the stop or record looking icon and it stops and resets. So for your benefit the timer is indeed available in game.

ElvUI users: right click the minimap, or middle click it (depending on your keybinds) and you will have a clock or timer option.

As the title implies they are Wandering Forest Walkers . Can be combined with the quests Natural Materials, Another Message To The Wild Hammer, and Clamlette Surprise (hint: hover your mouse on the links or click the names to the left to have a map of all the wandering kills, and locations of wandering sightings recorded through the wowhead client). It is entirely possible that you will not see one on the spawn spot, and I suggest before you head to the spawn spot you check the area around the spot. They have a pathing vector that covers the entire area of the map they are on.I will update and edit this post if any other spawn spots are found as precisely as this one. So far we have 3 of the 5 confirmed spawn locations.

One thing to note if you are lower on the dps range they do have self heal.

Adding comments for TBC classic prepatch. I won't comment on coordinates as those are all over the place now, but it seems the spawn rate has changed. It is almost instant, if not then perhaps 1 minute at the most. Kill the Wandering Treant at the back of the ruins near the ogres, then just to the west the Cursed Sycamore will spawn within 1 minute. Kill that, and the Wandering will spawn almost immediately at its coordinates. You can do this back and forth a few times to complete the quest in less than 10 minutes.

In SoD, previous comments are still correct regarding the best place to wait him out. If you stand at 57.86, 75.16 you wont get aggro of nearby birds that can hurt if you accidentally pull multiple.

He's incredibly easy to kill. Hardest part of the farm is waiting out his timer.
