Badlands offers a few good locations to hit up for mithril. The best place by far is Lethlor Ravine, where all the dragon whelps are at. The entrance to the south almost always has one node there, while the entrance to the north has one or two as well. The center, off to the left (if you're entering from the south) will have one too. You can hit these three, then cruise along the southern border of the Badlands (several spawns near the rock elementals) and then sweep back in time for the respawn in Lethlor Ravine.

When I leveled Mining, I did most of my mithril hunting in the south mountains in Tanaris going west to east then back. Not sure how good that place is now since I did my leveling 1year+ ago

If you're a higher level looking for skillups and you're in the mithril range, I highly suggest going to Uldaman. Theres several mithril nodes, sometimes some iron as well .. along with the Indurium veins, which may be pretty much useless but you can still skill up on them. Don't have to worry about competition for nodes, and when you mine them all, just reset and go again. If you run out of instances (too many per hour), just run over to Lethlor Ravine and pick up nodes there to wait it out.

Good tip on the Charred Vale: 2 Copper, 2 Iron and 2 Mithril in small area, great for jewelcrafters.

Maybe I keep running around the edge after somebody else, but I don't find much Mithril inside Tanaris. I'm gonna try Badlands later.

at least on Silvermoon..this place is rarely visited.

little iron, but decent mithril. not a large area, but the mobs are level 28 tops, so nice place to start on mithril.

Ive been circling the edges of badlands so many times now and i cant find any mithril! badlands is not a good place for mithril

In badlands I had seen 4 more around Dustbelch Grotto at 15,86, 15,95, 6.4,90, and 8.3,96

These maps are unreliable guides to the locations of mithril nodes. In both Desolace and Alterac (so far) I've found a number of nodes not shown here. I've added a note below regarding Desolace nodes. I'll add a further note about Alterac once I've finished exploring.

Mithril Deposits have a respawn timer of 15 minutes. They also have a maximum abundance that is specific to each zone (or perhaps subzone).

For example, the Charred Vale in the Stonetalon Mountains has a maximum abundance of three Mithril Deposits. Upon mining any one of these deposits, it will attempt to respawn in a random empty spawn node after 15 minutes. The pins on the above maps show the possible spawn nodes that have been found by players using the Wowhead Client.

Want a reliable although a bit chintzy source of mithril that farmers rarely if ever touch?

Go to Stonetalon--specifically, the Charred Vale. That subzone spawns literally every ore between copper and truesilver (not counting Dark Iron, of course). I mined that on my retail miner when she was still smol rogue. I mined that on my classic miner when she was smol hunter. At normal run speed there is a good likelihood you will find 2 mithril nodes per circuit of the Vale. If you are very lucky (or unlucky, if you lack the mining skill) there will be truesilver instead. Most who go to the Vale are too smol to mine the mithril, or even the iron, unless they are overachieving @$$holes like I am. I still go there in my early 50s to mine for ammunition's sake since most mithril-producing zones either underproduce nodes, or (more likely) are farmed to hell by gold farmers whose coworkers invite you to their gold-spamming chat channel.

Mining Mithril requires level 175 skill.
After level 225, nodes become Green and will rarely level you up.
After level 275 skill, nodes become Gray and you will no longer gain skill level.

The Hinterlands has the most nodes, but many of those are inaccessible being in Seradane (Level 60+) and Jintha'lor (just a lot of mobs to deal with). I prefer Tanaris where the nodes are more accessible and can be farmed looping around the zone.

Iron, truesilver, gold, thorium, iron, truesilver, gold, thorium, iron truesilver, gold, thorium..... it's never mithril no matter where I go
