Turn left off the main road when you get to these guys, there's lots more mobs down that way that have a much higher drop rate for things you need. Also, the Doomwarder Captains drop the Blood you need. Solo'd this as a 36 Rogue. Just have to watch out for the wandering casters.

How stupid was I to try this solo at only Lvl35?
I got 10x of the first 2 sets without a single problem (the brains, and the wings). Getting the items from the Doomwarders was a real challenge.
Long as I was able to pull 1 at a time, I'd manage to kill him using the right combination of traps, ranged, and some melee with my pet. Soon as a second demon got aggo'ed I was dead. This happened a few times, and I had to go back to my corpse and res in a safe place (which was a challenge).

I should have given up but once I had complete sets of the first 2 items, I didn't want to just abandon this for another time. I wanted to complete it right away. In all, I must have died 6 times.

Funny (and annoying) thing.. At one point, I was fighting my way toward the Doomwarder captains.. I needed a good spot to pull from where I wouldn't aggro anything else. Just as I got to this point, a Lvl38 warlock comes in with his Lvl60 guild mate and quickly slaughters all the Demon's i've been working so hard to get to. At one point, they both watched as I was mobbed by 2 of them and let me die. WTF?

Ahh well.. I'm glad knowing that I was able to complete this at lvl35, this guy 3 lvls above me needed the help of a 60. wuss.

100% droprate for all items.

i had no problem whatsoever with this quest as a 35 rogue, using scorpid sting and the ziggler. with a full combat spec!

HUGE HELP! get the demonslaying enchant put on both wepons! i had most of the MOBS i was up against in a complete stunlock, used these demons in this area to level from 35-36.5, then moved to the skeliton area to the south to grind to 38!

they all indeed drops all the time! but thottbot says should drop in about 50-70%...

My tip:

Go to 56.75 and kill the Mage hunters
then you will get the Felhound Brains's

Go to 51.82 and kill the Captains and sorceress'
then you will get the Nether Wing's
and also the Doomwarder Blood

Drop rate seems to be around 95% in total for all of them.

Elite demon running around - level 40

Mithril deposits for miners.
Heavy leather and hides for skinners off the mana eaters and mage hunters.
Gromsblood for herbalists.

I did it at lvl 38, i saw the lvl 40 elite lord alkasomething and decided to own him (pretty hard). he ended up dropping doomwarders blood hah!

(52 81)the respawn is very quick and 100% drop rate, you can get all 3 mobs in 1 spot, just keep your distance and dont get ganked.

For a mage quest (level 38 mage here) I had to go to the Mannoroc Coven anyway to get an orb from the Burning Blade Summoners, so combined the two quests. Everything was a 100% drop rate, and the respawn rate is fast enough that you really can do all of this in at most two spots:

I started in the empty barren area (except for a couple easy felhounds) just north of the coven as you come in from the east. From behind the buildings to the north, I pulled several nether demons, the summoner I needed (for another quest), and had to deal with a fire demon or two. Standard spell sequences for a mage, with a potion to ward off shadow magic, fire shield for the summoners' imps (the summoners will hit you hard with fire and shadow bolts), and frost ward for the nether thingies. Counterspell for the felhounds when they start trying to suck mana; they go down easiest.

For the doomwarder captains, if you go all the way to the west of the coven, then head south across the river, the first building on the right (west) had everything I needed except the last 4 felhounds, which I went back and got at the first spot. It was a little hairy clearing it, pulling more than one demon at a time sometimes - those summoners really patrol a lot and help any demon nearby - but once it was cleared, I just picked them off one at a time as they respawned until I was done. There were at least 3 doomwarder captains there who went down easily with the usual mage spells, and who spawned really quickly to donate more blood. They're just melee fighters; don't do anything special. Had to clear nether somethings a fair bit, but they were easy with frost ward. The summoners came through maybe twice before I had the 10 blood samples; the nether wings were fastest.

Then I just went back to that northern empty area where there are two felhounds and a basilisk to the east side. Killed them once, waited maybe a minute for them to respawn, and finished.

If you've done the quest in Ashenvale killing fire monsters, succubus-like demons, and some melee demons who can stun you, it's almost the same thing at a higher level. Except for the lack of stuns.

Anything to protect you from fire, shadow, or frost magic helps. Oh, and I made 5 gold just from the drops doing this one - still hope for that mount at 40!

Felhound brains are found in the level 38 and level 40 felhounds (look like triceratops dinosaurs). I'd avoid the level 40s because they can sap 600 health out of you in a matter of a few seconds.
Nether wings can be found on the succubus looking creatures (usually glowing pink) hanging around the roman columns. The problems here are the two summoners and their demons that roam around. They're more powerful than their level (38) lets on. Avoid them if you can.
Don't waste your time killing Doomwarders for the Doomwarder Blood. Only the Doomwarder Captains have them. They hang out in the most densely populated demon area, to the east of the nether succubi.
Regeneration takes a while, so it shouldn't be a problem; but, since there are a lot of demons in the area, know what's around you before attacking one.
Mental note: doomwarders and succubi CAN tread water.

Make sure you look out for the level 40 elite, Lord Azrethoc, or something like that. He came out of nowhere as I was on my way to 51,82.

When you're in the back killing the captains, keep an eye out for the wandering Burning Blade... Invokers I think. They run from about 38 to 40 and so do their pets. Even as a hunter, used to soloing four and five levels above me, I had trouble with these guys. They tend to sneak up right when you least want 'em.

Fellhound brains and Nether wings can rather easily be gathered along the road through Mannoroc from the lower level demons. Doomwarder blood you have to go deeper into the area for. The only thing to watch out for (if you're careful) is the lvl 40 elite demon wandering the area.

Having the hardest time finding the right monsters to attack on this quest. Been all the way to the Graveyard back up North of the 51,xx area without running into the right ones to fight and gather quest items.

Using Titan panel with cords thats usually dead on the money acurate. Just can't seem to locate the right ones. HELP!

I've been slaughtering doomwarders and getting no joy. I thought maybe this quest is like Everquest where there's a 0.001% chance of getting the item you need... then the felhunter brains and nether wings dropped every kill...

Would agree that the best place is the "Temple thing", well it seems to be the only place to find the Captains. The brains however, look for something call either a "Ley Hunter" or "Mage Hunter".

This one almost made me quit this game and never look back. Only the captains drop the blood and there are only maybe 6 spawn points. The drop rate sucks and you have to fight for every mob because there are several other there trying to finish the same quest your on.

Found a trick to this one - did it at lvl 37. There is a back way in that will let you get 3 of the 6 captains without pulling the Nether Sorceri. Respawn wait isn't too bad since all the captains drop blood. Be sure to let the Burning Blade Summoner past every once and a while (but then she and her imp are pretty easy).

was easy enough by camping the temple like structure at the back (plenty of nether sorceress' and doomwarder captains around, and 2 felhounds that respawn from time to time). good drops too, had about 1 drop/kill with some good loot thrown in there too.

most annoying thing was a group camping the same area. a lvl 60 paladin and lvl 60 warrior helping out their lvl 38 priest. wasn't much fun as the two lvl 60s were killing off everything in seconds, leaving me with hardly any target till they left

Look for an elevated structure in the south-center part of the demon area that looks like the Parthenon, all columns and a split roof. That's where you'll find the Doomwarder Captains that drop the Doomwarder Blood.

Land of the Trash Mob

Almost every mob is on patrol, so never turn away from the screen. Picked up the phone and when I looked back, I was surrounded by 11 mobs, the local Doomwarder Boy Scout troop, 14 Ley Hunters, the ghost of Jimmy Hoffa (so that's where his body is...) and the Philadelphia Philharmonic Orchestra. More than most other quests, you're always in play here.

Keep your eyes open for Kaskk (I stumbled across him at 55.59 76.46), a rare level 40 Doomwarder that drops a Doomwarder Blood and a really-nice green leather tunic that went for 3G in the AH.

Doomwarder blood appears to be a 100% drop from the captains, but not the lower level mobs. I was getting wings and brains from the succubi and fel hunters every kill regardless of their level, but not so with the lower-range doomwarders.

This is the last of the items, and I won't lie, it ain't pretty. I'm also expecting this to take you a little bit longer than the other items.

So, enough with the warning, let's get this started. Leftwitch says he needs: ten brains from either mana eaters, mage hunters, or ley hunters. Ten nether wings from a nether maiden, sister or sorceress. And... ten vials of doomwarder blood from a doomwarder captain, or lord.

Simple enough, huh? Sheesh... if you wanna pass on this one, I'd understand.
