Because you have to go back and forth for this egg, I recommend having your hearthstone set to Gadetzan, same some of that flight money.

Elaborating on Glais' recommendations:

This is really in the Frayfeather Highlands. (makes sense since these are all Hippogryph-looking flying mobs)

What you might want to do is use the following location macro (modified from wowwiki.com):
/script px,py=GetPlayerMapPosition("player")
/script DEFAULT_CHAT_FRAME:AddMessage(format(" %s , %s",GetZoneText(),(px*100),py*100)));

I use the "X marks the spot" icon (in the middle of row 23 of the icons)
I labeled this macro "Location"

Start just North of the small lake in the furthest SW corner of the map and move wouth then east along the hills.
Some nest locations to get you started:
55.9, 76
56.7, 76.6
56.3, 77.4
53, 71.5

At Level 49:
1050 xp when receiving the Egg Crate from the Egg-o-Matic each time.
1050 xp when receiving the Box of Rations after handing in the Egg Crate from an Ordinary Egg.
2100 xp when receiving the Box of Spells (Agility II and Stamina III) after handing in the Egg Crate from Fine Egg.

No reputation gain, but the quests are repeatable.(blue question mark).

I'd go with hearthstoning in Gadgetzan, but it's a toss up whether you ride from Thalanar or take another hippogryph and come south from Feathermoon.

I've done this quest a few times gotten an extrodinary egg 2 fine eggs and 1 bad egg the extrodinary gave me 2 leather patterns 250+ and an Alchemy pattern

But I've never gotten XP from the quest.

Be aware that after doing this egg trip around 20 times, I only got 1 extraordinary egg. The ratio is most probably around 1% for extraordinary eggs. Also, as of patch 1.10 you no longer get any experience for repeating this quest. You get a slight increase in faction with Darnassus (10).

The hole trip takes around 15 minutes and if you use the heartstone to port back to gadgetzan you can repeat this once every 45 minutes. To get an order of things, getting 1000 faction with Darnassus means doing this 100 times, you can probably squeeze 2 trips in 1 hour, one in which you port, the other you walk, so 50 hours total to get 1000 faction, which is.. a waste of time IMHO.

Where you get the eggs?

You get these eggs (extraordinary, Fine, Ordinary, Bad) in Feralas, south of the Ruins of Isildien. They are pretty much in the hills...They are called the Hipporyph eggs and those are the ones to collect, however you can only hold one at a time. You then take them back to the egg lady in Tanaris, and put it in the egg-o-matic. That will give you 1/4 of the eggs. Hand them in.

OMG I've been grinding this place forever and have yet not seen a single egg... beginning to think this is useless, what is the droprate on these things anyway?
