You get these eggs (extraordinary, Fine, Ordinary, Bad) in Feralas, south of the Ruins of Isildien. They are pretty much in the hills...They are called the Hipporyph eggs and those are the ones to collect, however you can only hold one at a time. You then take them back to the egg lady in Tanaris, and put it in the egg-o-matic. That will give you 1/4 of the eggs. Hand them in.

The eggs are located in nests in the hills South of the Ruins of Isldin.

I came back with an egg..put it in the eggomatic machine..got an ordinary egg..turned it..got a box of rations and received no xp or reputation? Won't be repeating it.

The egg lady has a blue Question Mark, so is this just a reputation quest? I'm sure not flying back and forth and running past those very aggressive Hippos for reputation with gadget or darnassus.

I thought it was a drop of hippogryph instead theese eggs are inside nests. I found one in 55 78 cc

Nest locations in Frayfeather Highlands that I found are at: 53.1 71.4 , 53.7 74.4 , 56.6 75.9 , 56.7 76.7 , 56.4 77.4 , 57.0 78.2 , 57.3 77.4 , 58.0 76.3 , 58.3 76.7 , 58.5 76.1 , 58.6 75.5 and 55.9 76.0

Now, here is what I do to make this easy. I loot one egg, run to a vendor, sell it, run back to the next nest to collect another. The vendor has 12 slots available, so you can sell 12 eggs and keep one in your inventory. Now you have collected 13 unique eggs to turn in, instead of only having one. You'll have to remember to repurchase each egg after each egg you turn in and collect the box as the process gives you a unique egg to turn in to the gnome. Once you turn in all 13 eggs fly back to Feralas, and repeat process.

For those who came here seeking what I was:

You can loot these eggs without collecting a quest or initializing anything in Tanaris.

As others have said the eggs are unique so you can only have one, you can click to loot a 2nd egg but you will get nothing and waste the egg spawn.

It also has no "timer" so you can take your time bringing it to Tanaris.
