Follow the river out to the cliff waterfall, either jump from there into the water or travel south to the path down. The chest is at the base of the waterfall. There is a lvl 48 elite turtle that frequents the area so becareful.

Those turtles are not very frequent in the area as one will go up and down the coast very slowly, hes actually part of a quest later

I just did this If you Jump over Overlokk You land in the Water No Damage the Chest is right near bottom. I then Did Whiskey Slims lost grog quest. The Bottle are along the bank of the lake. They are blue

I did it on lvl 39 and it took me to lvl 40, still only 6100 exp but on lvl 39 that is much, one and a half square of exp. I took a 60 friend to help me to the water then I swam from there to the waterfall.

In what area is "Overlook" located? It seems this is a little hard to understand for some. So, exactly where is the objective?

Those of you worrying about the snapjaws on the shore, they won't attack you unless you attack them. They're yellow guys. Pay attention to the "enemy" colors.

The only things you have to be wary of for this part are 1-Actually getting there (since you have to run through The Hinterlands and there are some beasts that you will aggro along the way. I'm 46 and with my mount I can usually get by pretty easily without them knocking me off). 2-The one named elite (Gamiteria or something like that) who -will- attack you but moves super-slowly around the coast and is easy to avoid. 3-Any players of the opposing faction (I know there's a horde town there on the other side of the coast, and this is a big farming location for leatherworkers in both factions because we need the turtle scales).

1.) Make your way to 'The Hintelands' (Eastern Kingdoms) island.

2.) all the way east... River Meets the Sea....

3.) River turns in to the waterfall.

4.) Right there under the waterfall in the water the chest that you need to get to to complete the quest !

Yep, really easy as long as you don't aggro too much . I had great fun jumping from the waterfall to see the chest at the bottom.

6100 XP (at lvl 52) AND a 14 slot bag! Just for runnin around! I think the hardest part of this quest is actually stumbling on it in the first palce. Thanks for the gimme Blizz!

All I did was get as far forward on the rocks sticking out from the top of the waterfall and jumped out. Landed safely in deep water below. Don't understand all these quotes about painful fall.

I found it at 81.45.

6100 XP at level 48.

Just went south of there, and at 81.54 found "Pupellyverbos Port" on ground.
This is for the quest: Whiskey Slim's Lost Grog. Found these all the way south to Revantusk Village. Most were at 78.75.

6100 XP at level 51. I kept looking around the wrong waterfall in the Hinterlands.

Is there a way of figuring out how much XP a quest gives if you're above/below the quest level?

I did this as a lvl 35 rogue. The hardest part was waiting long enough for a higher level person to clear the pirates out enough for me to get the quest in the first place. I actually got the scroll when I was lvl 33 and had to wait until 35 before I could open it. I mostly just snuck around stealthed, and only got killed when a raptor moved right when I thought he would move left. (They do have a nasty tendency to notice when they step on you!)

Hmm just did this at lvl 47 .. Like the others says jump (I died :P), and get the chest .. I didn't even see a KOS turtle :) But if you should die, the graveyard is only 10 sec away, lucky enough for me. Thought I was going to run entire Hinterlands :P

This quest is extremely easy, I did it as a L41 with a mount. As long as you can avoid the aggro by outrunning any mobs, you'll find this easy. Around 10k XP for doing nothing more than running.

Easy horde quest.

Flew to Raventusk, followed the shoreline north and jumped into the water at the bottom of the waterfall to grab the chest.

While killing the raptors, I found another Journeyman's Backpack (14 slot), which means, I got 2 14-slot packs for the quest. Quite lucky I say!

This quest is marked as level 51 but providing you are careful you can do it much much earlier. I did this quest at level 41 and did not die once during this stage of the quest.

The final item is located, as the quest notes say, in a chest on the coast of the hinterlands at the bottom of a big waterfall. This waterfall is at the end of the only river on the map of the hinterlands.

The easiest way to complete this quest is to follow the path until you can see the large pool at the start of the river, just to the north of Agol Watha. At this point jump into the river and follow it to the coast. I did not see anything in the water nor on the shore of the river as i swam down.

Once you reach the waterfall you need to make your way out as far as possible on the rocks at the top of the waterfall and then just jump, you should land at the bottom but behind the level 49 KOS turtles and out of agro range. I was able to open the chest and complete the quest then use my hearthstone to get back out without getting any agro.

This was a fun quest. I loved it. The reward was "meh" but I thought the riddles, while simple were clever. Are there any more quests like this? I'd like to do them. :)

The scenario described in Azette's post is entirely do-able, I was able to complete the quest series last night. Just stay in the water get on the rock that protrudes the furthest out of the waterfall and move forward until you fall off. No hit to HP, swim to the right a tad and there's the underwater chest with the pack in it. 6100 XP @ lvl 46, swim to shore summon your mount and race past the lvl 49-50 Turtles. There is a path back up the mountain south of the waterfall. Good luck & happy hunting!

no one said the obvious:
if you see the river that starts at the center, the waterfall is at the end all the way to the right ( east). the chest is at the bottom, so have safe fall or be prepared for a painful fall.

Ahh sadly enough this has to be one of the most fun things I've done yet on WOW (this stage that is).

Yup, scramble your way to hinterlands as described below and go to the co-ords 80,46.

Giant waterfall at the shore basically. Do it right, and you'll land in deep water (aka take no damage, painful fall? only if you fear heights :P), just swim to where the waters hitting the ocean and you can't miss the box. Good XP.

Good fun I must admit. I saw the drop and was like "omg you have to be kidding", with my fear of heights I actually felt sick just looking at it xD Considering the drop and all the water I felt harsh on my snow leopard and considered dismissing it for the fall xD but bless him he came taking the gentle path across the rocks where the water filters through to its fall and came and joined me by my side.. Heartwarming? I thought so.. ahem yes, good long drop only to be greeted by giant turtles I thought'd kill me but they're yellow, so don't aim and fire anything they'll quite happily ignore you.

Funnily enough, my pet actually ditched me by time I hit the water, I guess it didn't actually jump with me ;_; and course we went too far apart too fast and he was automatically dismissed, fraidy cat ;_;

While the description of the fun to be had jumping off the waterfall to get to the chest is quite evocative, be advised that the water below is not of a uniform depth, and if you land in water that isn't deep enough, you will get hit for quite a nice chunk of damage (I was hit for 2199, just a few points over what was needed to kill me )

So, be careful jumping.

BTW u can make this trip worthwile if u have the quests whiskey's slim lost grog & The super snapper FX, both can be completed at this location just a bit south.
Don't do like me and forget to take the picture of the sea turtle gammerita (with the super snapper FX)

getting to the hinterlands if you've never been there before is by far the worst part of this quest, the rest is easy schmeasy. what i did (after trying other ways) was go to hillsbrad and behind durnholde keep in the mountains theres a path which comes out right near the FP in the hinterlands, so make sure you grab that on your way to the waterfall (it's at the very top of the hill in that little town like place). like everyone else said, 80, 46 for the chest, 6100 exp as a 44 druid

Just an FYI, the turtles in the area are no longer agro, so this quest is even easier than before. You could just run up the coast if you wanted with no worries. But really, who wants to miss out on an excuse to cliff dive?

Okay, as much fun as it is, you don't actually have to jump off the cliff. If you go south to the graveyard, there is a trail down. IAlliance, be careful with this - there is a horde town close to the base of the cliff!)

I already had the Fly Path of Revantusk Village, so i only needed to go north to the waterfall and then it was there underwater,just next to the waterfall, verry easy if u have the fly path. 6100xp at lvl 44 and the bag ofcourse.

After jumping off the waterfall and completing the quest, there's a horde camp to the south so I went north to try to find another way back up. There is no path to the north at all. I swam all the way north trying to climb every possible path, past the plaguelands, before my hearthstone cooldown finally ran out.

For anyone who might be doing this on hardcore for the 14-slot bag, note you don't have to jump off the waterfall in the far northeast to reach the bag.

You can simply run down the same ramp you'd use to get to Gammerita or Whiskey Slim's Lost Grog (the path down starts just north of Jintha'alor) and run north at the bottom and you'll find the locker with the backpack in it underwater at the waterfall.
