Learning the Goblin Mortar schematic (https://www.wowhead.com/classic/spell=12716) from your Goblin engineering trainer will teach you this schematic as well.

This reloads an empty Goblin Mortar. Warning - May cause the mortar to explode.

Explosion did 8813 damage and threw me in to the air and I fell for 2000. Easy to survive.

Also still gives engineering gains.

Edit: exploded only for 5200 and 7900 on other tries.

Note that if you die from the reload explosion you don't take durability loss, only the fall damage causes dura loss.

Can you reload other people's mortars? Since the Mortar is BoE, it seems like this should work ... but I can't see quite how to do it.

Used this for 50 points to 375, didnt expload once, got skillup every 3rd atempt up to 375, then i got skillup every 3rd to 4th atempt.

But got a lot of questions why I was standing around naked crafting in Shattrath... :)

The highest explosion I've had was 9996. As I was too shy to be standing at the Ironforge forge naked, Warriors like me might want to be wearing their tanking gear rather than dps!

If the reload explodes and you don't die, remember to bandage or eat. On one occasion I had two explosions with two successive attempts, and you don't want this to happen on less than full health.

You can carry out the reloading of the mortar without equipping it - so if its brand new, you can keep the item BoE then sell it or pass it on to a friend.

ROFL! was making them in IF and it trew me down the lava:(
some mortars later it exploded again and crit me!

"Your Reload Explode crits you for 19750 Fire damage."

better equip some fire res gear....
Best way to lvl engineering anyways.

I was making a Reload for my Mortar and was killed by an 8k dmg Explosion. This was due to either 1) Reloading the Mortar before it's completely empty, 2) Creating it near a fire, or 3) Just bad luck with Engineering. LOL

So be careful! :)

I used the anvil next to the forge in orgrimmar and blew up twice.
Then i tried another anvil w/o a nearby forge and all worked well.

So it seems that forges - or maybe any open fire - make u go boom

Don't use this in combo with a full mortar. I did and it exploded for 9737 Fire Damage. Highest damage I've ever got :D

You don't get this.
You gotta have the Goblin Mortar , when it goes empty you use this to refill it.
Consumes 1x Mithril Bar, 3x Solid Blasting Powder
and 1x Goblin Mortar , giving you a fully recharged Goblin Mortar (6 charges).

There's a lot of confusion about this currently. There are basically four types of items that can be made by engineers:

BoE items that can be used by any engineer and traded.
BoP items that can be crafted by a specific specialization, but used by any engineer
Items that require a specific specialization to use.
BoP items that can be crafted by an engineer, but can be used even after engineering is dropped

Gnomish Engineering allows you to craft these items:

If your intent is to switch to Goblin after crafting all the goodies (by dropping and re-leveling Engineering), you should probably craft all of these items, but you must craft Gnomish Goggles, Gnomish Battle Chicken, Gnomish Death Ray, and Lil' Smoky (these are Bind on Pickup) or you will lose access to these items permanently (unless you drop and re-level Gnomish Engineering again.)

Ultrasafe Transporter: Gadgetzan and World Enlarger cannot be used by a non-gnomish engineer, so you can skip crafting these if you're planning on switching.

NOTE: Gnomish Death Ray doesn't require Engineering to use, so technically, you could level Engineering to craft this item, and drop it and still be able to use it.
