I wonder what posible use this can have. In order to have any efffect, you'll need at least 4 combo points, and to get those before being able to stun an opponent for 5-6 seconds before turning to another target really seems useless.

Or am I missing something?

There are several ways to use this spell. The first thing that you need to see is that it simply doesn't do poor damage. On my decently geared 62 druid, I get 1k+ crits on cloth. The other incredible part of the spell is that DOTs continue ticking without breaking it.

This allows you to load up pounce - mangle - rake - moonfire - (insect swarm?) and THEN maim. The damage of maim combined with the DOTs ticking can finish your enemy off very quickly with minimal damage to you.

The other use of this spell as a druid is to use it to transition to another form. Maim + root - heal will be very viable.

this is a GREAT transition move, kind of like bash for bearform. plenty of time for a heal or two and time to shapeshift again.

If you can manage it as a lot of rogues do, in pvp, a 5 pt mangle, deselect target and restealth...pounce all over again. (This is really dependant on how fast you get out of combat in your server)

Not your damaging finisher. Bite and rip are for that. This has 3 uses
1. Spell interuption
2. "stun" for a shift heal
3. limited stun lock (no KS like rogues but we aren't rogues).

Is it possible to stay in cat form, get out of combat and restealth on the duration of the 6sec stun?

In PvE yes it takes ~10 seconds to get out of combat, but in PvP it only takes 5 seconds of none direct(?) damage towards the target to get you out of combat. Effectivly you could get a 5 combo point Maim up wait behind the target for 5 secs, stealth, wait for GCD (1.5secs?) and pounce, rince and repeat. Hopefully that's correct because it would be amazing in theory.

It is indeed possible to drop combat and restealth in PvP encounters. you don't even need a max amount of combo points.

For Feral Druids:

Just Pounce->Mangle-> Shred(if OoC)-> Maim and drop your target and start running.

You will leave combat around the time they are getting out of maim.

Restealth and repeat as much as possible.

Just to clarify what a lot of people seem to be confused by:

Stun: Target cannot move or perform any action, and continues to take damage for the duration of the effect.

Incapacitate: Target cannot move or perform any action, but any damage taken will revive the target.

Maim is not a stun. If you don't like the word "Incapacitate", call it a gouge instead, because it's exactly the same effect.

As the poster prievious to me has stated, this is, effectively, the druid gouge, but it COSTS combo points, rather than giving them. So it's effectively the druid gouge and the druid cheap-shot, with the ill-effects of both (damage revives, costs combo points). Would make a welcome edition to the druid repitore.

I just got this, and I decided to Macro it to Pounce because both abilities "stun" (I know Maim is incomp).

Basically, it uses Pounce when stealthed and Maim when unstealthed. It's perfect.

I am glad for this ability! This finally allows druids to spell interrupt! how many times i was trying to kill a priest or shammy that was healing faster than i could deal damage... (ok i did not have a great gear, but still!)

yes i was talking about in pvp, in pve and grooups cat form is ok but its way to easy for other classes to kill you have to jump out to heal every couple sec

This along with blood frenzy is a deadly combo, I have 30+ percent chance to crit and add combo points like crazy. Adding two combo points with every special move crit ensures that the target will stay stunned for longer. Incredibly useful talent. Even if you only have one point on them, its very useful to stop spellcasting.

Some cool killing tactic

This requires the Omen of Clarity talent + Mangle.

Tigers Fury ---wait for 90-100 energy---> Pounce -->Mangle--->Shred

If Omen of Clarity doesn't proc you have a broken stunlock, but after 2 or so seconds you can maim / ferocious bite. If it DOES proc, it goes like this:

Tigers Fury ---wait for 90-100 energy---> Pounce -->Mangle--->Shred--->(Instant)Maim--->Tigers Fury--->Shred.

On my 63 Druid (1.4k AP) I killed a 65 Hunter before he could do anything with using this combination... Everything critted Ofc.

Druids can stunlock! GG!

edit: Oh and also, if it's a plate wearer, you'd want to:

pounce --> mangle --> rake--->maim ---> root----> nuke at distance with starfire ---> go bear and feral charge -> etc

The thing about that is most rogues use gouge to get behind or away from something so if you were a druid you would have to claw rake ext in order to do this cuase it uses cps but rogues type gives you cps.

If this goes in-game, it will be the calling for cat users, having an in-battle stun will change the way we feral players play completely.

could be internal servers indeed and the level 6 is for testing purposes on their internal realms...

or somebody is having fun with the database here and submitting a fake new skill for druids...
But somehow going as far as creating a icon to go with it and then screw up the level requirement that badly just sounds wrong...

My bet is on internal servers right now..
Wouldn't bet on this one making it to the real world though. Sounds a wee bit to powerful...

I've seen this or something like this months ago. The icon seems familiar.

I think back then the people wrote something about "Beta" or "Mob skill".

Even without the damage done, this skill would be worth it.

Its a Rank 1 spell that you learn at lvl 6. You dont get cat form until lvl 20 so its fake.

Agreed, sweet if its actually out there (which I doubt) and if it were, dont you think we'd see it already in spell learning when we go to level? Unless of course, its one of those "only level 6 can enter" and you can't get it otherwise...

Somebody make a new char & go search for it as soon as you reach lvl 6! Give me a report as to how much time you waste looking for it before you gave up.
