Like previously stated any hostile actions will break invisibility, but if you break invisibility 2 seconds in, you still lost some threat during those 2 seconds. Evocation+Invisible is now viable when raiding, because by the time they are both done (5seconds) you should have full mana and 0 threat ^_^. This is effective for thwarting death before wipes :D you pop invisibility go ooc and dont worry about dieing.

I have a question it says no hostile actions but what about Bandaging.. it is not a hostile actiong it would be like a paladin healing himself with divine protection which doesn't allow hostile actions so in that sense wouldn't drinking in a sense be a non hostile action?.. Idk if you can drink while under divine protection but in all fairness...

Pretty much anything you do other than run (and don't get hit) cancels the effect.

Frost Nova + run and invisible does indeed reset the mobs so long as you don't get hit during that 5 seconds until you turn invisible.

Mounting cancels it. Blink will cancel it. Bandaging cancels it. Eating or drinking cancels it.

If you have a DOT on you it will cancel on the first tick of the dot.

A lot of good points were made by other people, like getting taken out of combat, etc, but one thing I don't like about the fade (in more of a PvP and solo PvE perspective) is that even if you have Ice barrier or Mana Shield up you still lose the fade effect if you get hit. (and all of the damage is absorbed)

If the fade would continue even after damage taken is completely absorbed as well as possibly a shorter cooldown on the skill (maybe just a minute or two taken off) I would enjoy it a lot more.

This does not share a cooldown with invisibility potions, so you can bust out up to 38 seconds of invisibility if you use one at the last second of the spell.

I've never been able to eat/drink while invisible on boss fights. It gives me the error message saying I'm still in combat. However if the group wipes, I don't get boss aggro when I'm invisible and I can survive. I haven't tested it on non-boss encounters (mainly because I don't go OOM on trash pulls,) so I don't know if you can go invisible and eat/drink then.

edit: Yes, I'm referring to raid bosses. 5-man "bosses" are still just level X elites and not actually tagged as a boss.

Since this is a % of base mana and you get it at 70 isnt the nman cost going to be about the same for everyone?

"While invisible, you can only see other invisible targets, and those whom can see invisible." If they can't see you, you can't see them either. Disappear only to reappear in a worse position than you would've been otherwise. Against those who can see invisible, this spell is wasted mana and 1.5 global cooldown better spent on attacking. Combat wise, its useless for anything other than regaining some mana. It also reads "The effect is cancelled if you perform or recieve any hostile actions.", which sounds like anything that would put you in combat. Interacting with objects doesn't put you in combat however. The spell might be able to be used to capture ab/av nodes and loot chests and what not without being caught....assuming theres noone spamming aoes...

YOu people are stupid. Don't you ever do BGs? You can now go invis, walk right into flag room, or to a base in any BG completly undetected. You'll appear right on the flag and grab it, you don't need to see anyone, you know where the flag is, its same with bases. This is a godly BG tool. Even with that aside, it'll be good in PvP anytime you need to get by or around a group of enemies, whom would otherwise rape you. I guess these guys would rather die then go invis and run past them untouched. Warlocks are the single, sole class that can cast the detect, no one else, inless theres a Warlock around, theres nothing to be worried about.

I also see it being very great in PvE as well. You can nuke up a boss, then completly drop aggro, and start all over again. People are complaining that it doesn't save you once you have aggro, that was never the point idiots. Use it without aggro, just to dump and start over. Its the same reason any Rogue spams Feint against a raid boss, so that he never gets aggro to start with.

I only wish the mass of clueless newbs didn't post.

The only question is whether or not AOE damage will drop the invis, I can't test this because I'm not a Mage. Due to this spell, Mages are now another infiltrator in any BG, the 20sec invis easily gets you into anything when used right.

yeah I am a mage lvl 70 engineer,and I was going to change my proffession before the BC comes out but I've finally wait to see what could be usefull for me.Since I have this new spell and since I saw that I was out of combat with it,I've made some tests like:drinking,eating and even change my trinket and also use my jumper cables to rez someone while my friends was in a fight!
SO! YOU HAVE A CHANCE TO BATTLE REZ SOMEONE!:D
and I did!:P
the best thing to do is keep your cables on you before the fight becuz its a 30 second cooldown before its ready and if something bad happen to one of you,you can try to rez the dead players:P

yup you are free to do anything you can usually do when you are out of combat!

tested it: if u grab aggro on bosses the aggro dump doesn't rly help tht much because you will get 1-3 ticks, depending of the distance...
sure i use it alot in pve - it rocks the house :)

BTW: it puts you out of combat so in a boss fight u can (if u don't have aggro) invis -drink, eat

Erm personnaly, I own in PVP with this spell..
ice mage, you summon your pet.. shoot off invi.... and send your pet to hit the target..

you can thus see exactly where the target is because you can see your pet and his ice bolts ;)

Ok agreed the CD is very cheap, but the spell its self when used correctly is a killer :) I owned a 70 hunter at lvl 68.. throw pet at him and nova him and invi sneak attack him, you get too him in invi and nova again, spam javelin etc.. easy

of course you cant just do it while somone is shooting you... but its a surprise sneak / stealth spell so, use it accordingly :)

im a priest, i use invisibility potions...which they changed to behave like this spell...and let me tell you...it ROCKS!...its so FUN..

in PvP or w/e...(wen not in BG)...i run...and right wen i go out of combat...*BAM* use the pot, and run or w/e...

i love the potions..but this has to be better then the pots...lucky...ya'll have fun stuff...

does anyone know if using engineering pets like harvest reaper/dragonlings/exploding sheep pull you out of invisibility? im gonna test this once i hit 68

Hmm, when u cast invis and then ice barrier, will the ice barrier protect ur invis from being broken when u receive dmg? (kinda stopped my mage at lvl 60 when BC came out but wonna know :D )

Are you able to mount while invisible? If so, you could get pretty far away by the time you fade back in.

I use this quite often in Arena. Helps a lot getting behind the enemy, sheeping on and AP/POM Pyro+fireblast+blast wave+scorth till dead. When my mate was D/Ced this has helped me won ;) Also pretty good in PvE.

Haven't tried this in BGs but I think it's almost undetectable. I mean, how many warlocks care to rebuff with detect invisiblity when they respawn? :S

After 2-3 weeks of using this spell in various situations, I'm not entirely convinced that it adds much value to our class. I can see it being used in a raid boss fight to drink, but unless the fights are ridiculously long 2 mana pots, 2 mana gems and evo should be enough to last you (plus you don't waste dps time to go invisible and time to drink).

As far as using it when wiping to save your repair bill, I'm usually the 2nd or 3rd on the aggro list, so once the tank dies I'm out of luck, since "any hostile action" will break it.

Oh, but what about the aggro wipe? Unless you use it pre-emptively (which one could argue whether you needed to use it at all, at that rate) I have high doubts you'll get it off once a boss is aggroing you.

All in all, the spell seems more trouble than it's really worth. I suppose it's better than nothing, but Blizzard's so busy nerfing the PVP possibilities of it that they screw the folks that solely or mainly PVE. Just my thoughts...
