After turning in all 7 Relics, you get a bag with your class rune in it.

You need to damage him to be able to loot the relic.

Did him in a raid and only the 3 people who damaged him could loot.

you have to be unmounted in order to get the buff to summon them

Once you have the Buff, use the trinket. There was no need to hunt anything down.

How to obtain Supply Bag containing rune relevant to your character:

1. Travel to 52X 34Y in Deadwind Pass and speak to Dalaran Agent to receive Ariden's Sigil

2. Equip Ariden's Sigil and defeat seven Dark Rider Elites by using the Ariden's Sigil to reveal them at the below locations
You can use the Ariden's Sigil at the location when you receive the Dark Presence buff which means Dark Rider is in the area
Once you defeat the Dark Rider collect their Relic which you need 7 in total

3. Locations:
Deadwind Pass at 42X 27Y
Swamp of Sorrows at 69X 22Y
Duskwood at 22X 47Y
Badlands at 57X 52Y
Arathi Highlands at 63X 39Y
The Barrens at 52X 36Y
Desolace at 66X 23Y

4. Return to Dalaran Agent in Deadwind Pass at 52X 34Y
Turn all 7 relics to the Dalaran Agent and turn in a follow-up quest
You will receive a Supply Bag which upon opening will provide Rune appropriate to your class

For any hunters out there, this is easily soloable at level 40. Just let your pet do its thing, use Mend Pet a few times to heal it and you will have no trouble whatsoever.

If you have aspect of the viper and viper sting, solo'ing these is trivial at level 40 and probably a few levels lower.

Sit in aspect of the viper
Trap
Use the trinket
Let pet take aggro
Keep viper sting up 100%, it will only be able to get 1 DOT off on you and will quickly be unable to cast shadow bolt
Spam mend pet and weave in attacks when pet is healthy

Really easy to solo

You can summon more than one knight. If there are several parties present waiting for the respawn, as long as you start using the trinket as soon as the buff appears, you can get a knight each. I'm not sure if it's possible to spawn more than 1 knight within the same group though.

Dark Rider Location Guide - https://youtu.be/wIqX33Fyfqs

1. Pick up Ariden's Sigil from Dalaran Agent in Deadwind Pass
-Dalaran Agent is in a campsite (Ariden's Camp) in the northwest area of Deadwind Pass. Entrance is just north of the fork in the road coming from Swamp of Sorrows.
(Note: You do not NEED Ariden's Sigil to collect relics from Dark Riders. You only need Ariden's Sigil to SUMMON the Dark Rider. As long as at least one person in your group can summon the Dark Rider, all group or raid members who tag Dark Rider with damage can loot the relics.)

2. Collect 7 relics from 7 Dark Riders.
-Barrens, just to the southeast of Crossroads, next to a tree near the main road.
-Desolace, northern end of zone, between the two roads south of Nigel's Point.
-Duskwood, southeastern portion of Raven Hill cemetary (Western end of zone)
-Deadwind Pass, Northern portion of the zone, near a cliffside overlooking the river.
-Arathi Highlands, Northeastern end of zone, north of main road between Hammerfall and the neighboring farm.
-Badlands, somewhat in the center of the zone, slightly to the east in a large clearing between a ring of 5 mountains/plateaus on the map.
-Swamp of Sorrows, northeastern portion of zone, just to the southwest of fallow sanctuary and north of Temple of Atal Hakkar.

3. Return to Dalaran Agent in Deadwind Pass
-Turn in all 5 relics for some xp and silver.
-Pick up quest A Service To Dalaran which you immediatly turn in to collect a Supply Bag.
-Inside the Supply Bag will be your class rune.

I just wanted to drop a quick note. As previous comments mention, most of the respawn timers are around 5 minutes, but some can be longer, especially The Barrens spawn can be as long as 20min. I have not seen one over 15 personally

Make sure you dismount when you enter the area where the dark rider is. I did not get the buff until i dismounted.
Soloable as a 41 aff warlock
