About two years ago some friends and i noticed that we all played wow but on different servers, so we all decided to join in on a brand new one that noone of us had set foot on before. As soon as we joined we instantly heard of this all swedish guild, we joined and appearantly about 10people lived at the longest 1hour with car away, so at several occations we have went out to eat etc, and the best thing is that more and more people are dropping in that also lives nearby.Sure there's a wide range of the ages of us (20-35), but most of us seem to enjoy eachothers company.
Guild meetups can be awesome :)And dear gods, that mount...love it!
I met my friend on WoW when my old 10m Guild was recruiting for Heroic Dragonsoul.Back then I hated him, I thought he was just a chump Warlock that planned on taking all of my guilds treasures and gold. He proved me wrong, and we still go on adventures everyday. All I would like to do is hug my Undead Warlock in real life before he passes.P.S. We'll get our beloved mounts one day.Love,LonelyMoleR.I.P. X-45 Heartbreaker & Invincible's Reins
Apped to a guild, got invited, people were cool. Short story but awesome years of results.
A couple of years ago I was pug in a guilds raid that needed a DPS and after the raid was over one of the top DPSers, who was a mage like me, and asked if I wanted some help to bring my DPS up and I said sure. So then he has me redo my talents and make some macros and the next raid he is in he invites me and lo and behold my DPS goes up a lot. Then he decides to help me out more and he gives me quite a few craft-able purples that were good upgrades for me and tells me how to gem them and he gives this to me for next to nothing. I continue to play with this for a couple months but then I have to stop for school and when I come during winter break I can't find him. I never played with him again but I never forgot what he did for me.
I've met up with a healthy chunk of people I've met in-game, either through guild get-togethers or BlizzCon or some other means. It's always fun and interesting (sometimes you meet some real specimens) and I've met some really awesome people this way.Looking at that application though... pure dramatic drivel. But I guess that's what MTV is nowadays.
Well, few friends from the guild and I decided to meet irl. So we had a hotel booked and date and everything and this was planned about 5 months in advance. Than stuff came apart people started raging about 1 person failing at sparks on Will of the Emperor (lulz) and... meet didn't happened no space cake (yes we were aiming for Amsterdam) and no pat butcher's yogurt (inside joke)
As a guild master, i always wanted to meet my guildies, at least my officers. I met 'em two years ago, and started a new guild, we chat everyday but meeting in real life is not an option in this moments. I've been through a really sad and difficult situation in my house, and all my wow-friends really help me to get out of that "pain"... Anyway we're fine right now, doing a lot of raids, achievements and RBGs!
Time to meet your online friends.. in irl. In my guild we had a lot of meeting in irl and we had fun all together.
Without online gaming, i would of never found my soul mate! Better yet i wasn't even looking for him at the time, he just came across my path during one day i was playing and it just happened to be! I was playing ( still play! ) World of Warcraft, and doing casual things around azeroth just having fun. I met him through my guild master, he had quit the game a year ago but decided to play once again. I'm thankful he did! We would chat for hours while playing, doing everything together. He was a really funny and charming guy, so i joked with him about how he should come out to California for my 21st birthday! I didn't think he would ever do it, but sure enough he had a plane ticket out here. When it was about time for him to fly back home he honestly didn't want to go. Turns out he bought me a plan ticket out to Kentucky and we drove everything he had back to Cali a week later. He couldn't wait any longer then that! Here we are 6 years later, still playing the game that brought us together and still going strong :). I owe it to WoW for giving me that chance to meet my soul mate! ♥
I've never meet anyone in real life from WoW but have meet some really cool people that I think would be awesome to meet irl if the opportunity ever arose.
Most of my WoW relationships are the other way around: I know the person in real life first. There was one exception: I met a guy who was taking classes in my town, and we went out for a short while. I still like him, but he's busy with his life in his town, & me in mine. I still think it's cool that I got to meet a new friend from playing a video game!
I have met a handful of really great people thanks to this game. There is one in particular, who was having a really, really bad time, and put up a message in trade chat one night as I was about to sign off. She was really down, and I sent her a tell to try and cheer her up. :) She and I have been friends since, and it would be absolutely awesome to be able to meet her and her family in person now. I'm in.
My best friend and I met in WoW and we talk everyday, whether in game or on the phone we are inseperable now. We have been saving to meet in real life but money is tight and she lives several states away. :(
My friend and I met over a couple of years ago in WoW, back during Cataclysm. He had just gotten back into the game and needed help on his Hunter, learning about what's different with them. I gave him advice, what the stat priority was and which spec was superior at the time. After that, we hit it off and became really good friends. We ran dungeons, battlegrounds and even made our own arena team together once we had decent PvP gear, which still surprises me even to this day, because PvP isn't really my forte. Then, he was gone for a year or so, a few months before MoP was released. It kinda sucked, but I moved on since I know he was probably too busy to be able to focus on WoW.Now, he recently came back and I'm too busy to play WoW, mainly trying to get into college and improve my artistic skills. I play every now and then, but since we live in opposite corners of the country, we are on at completely different times. Back then, I used to be able to stay up late with him, running dungeons or battlegrounds, but now I'm on a really tight sleep schedule thanks to my migraines, so I'm usually in bed by 12, instead of like 3 in the morning. xDHe is by far one of the coolest people I have ever met in WoW. :)
I was good friends with one of my guildies back in TBC and he was from Argentina. One day this girl joined the guild and I became friends with her. Her personality reminded me a lot of my friend so I introduced her to him. They hit it off and were playing together constantly. Few weeks pass and my buddy tells me that he bought a ticket to fly to the States to go meet her. They got together and had a blast for about 2 weeks. Couple months later he goes back to see her and ends up proposing to her and she said yes. We had one of those crappy RP guild weddings on WoW and I got to be the best man. Then outta no where my buddy (the groom) messaged me on WoW and he invited me to the real wedding and said they would be paying for the entire trip, including the flight and hotel. So I got to meet both of them IRL at their wedding and it was a blast. I still keep in touch with them from time to time. I'm pretty sure they want to start having children pretty soon!
This post was from a user who has deleted their account.
I knew a pretty rad ret paladin back in Wrath. He taught me how to gear properly and get an efficient rotation (since at the time I was a DK with Int for SICK SPELL DAMAGE). We'd rival each other to get into PuGs, but eventually he ended up in a big-leagues raiding guild and moved off-server.
Our guild produced a marriage of Jere and Ana.
Ok, So it's BC and I'm working on taking control of one of those three areas in Hellfire Peninsula. I'm just standing there next to some other Horde tune. So I figure I'll be friendly and say "Good morning". He replies "Good evening". So I say "where are you at?" He says "Japan". I reply that I've been there and have a friend that transferred there after our year long school in San Diego. I say I think he was in Yoko. He says he's in Yoko and asks what his name was. I tell him and there's this long pause before he replies that he is that person. What are the odds?We had lost touch for about five years and randomly reconnected in WoW. We still keep in touch to this day even though I'm not playing as much and he transferred servers.
