I met my boyfriend in WoW in 2004. We've been living together for almost 9 years now!
I met a good overseas friend of my mine through another friend who had already played WoW for a number of years before I started. They have since stopped speaking, but I still speak to my overseas friend almost daily even though she's been away from World of Warcraft for a while. She can also be a lot of help when I need someone to talk to about my anxiety issues, and that can be a great reassurance. WoW is a great place to meet new people, and so is the world I guess so people should just be open to new friendships more, and maybe give the new guy 10g and a helping hand if they ask for it.
I have met a few friends in WoW that my wife and I are still friends with. Our first real guild leader is always there for us when we need to talk to someone. He has helped us out during many of our marriage issues because he and his wife have been together so long.
Most of my friends have been playing with me other game then we went to WoW... but a friend I have met in WoW and keep in contact, how did it all start? Well, I was one of first ever LFR in dragon soul. Thing was, that priestess (shadow) didn't know her rotation, I seeing her how well geared enough she was, she would destroy DPS meters around, I sent her a link to one of websites to help people how-to play. Later on, she added me to battle-net ID, to keep in contact (I believed things wouldn't last long), but after all, we still just chit-chat around and thanks to me, she finds shadow priests as powerful killermachines :P.
Me and my fiance met on WoW during Cata, we actually did RBG's together and she was a holy pally and I was a arms warrior. We did RBG's together for months and eventually went on to other games, but eventually coming back for MoP. and now we are engaged =)
I met a guy back in TBC playing AB on my level 20 warlock twink with him on his hunter. We leveled up to max and started raiding together on our pallies. In our down time we would go to horde cities and try to sneak around without getting caught and dueling each other in holy spec and the duels would last hours. We both got married and have kids nowadays and are planning on making a trip to meet each others' children soon :)
I've met alot of great people in WoW over the years, but the guild i am in now are really sweet people, i couldent possible choose just one to single out, though there is one who always makes sure i have the latest gossip! considering its a danes only guild, meeting up has never been a problem, so theres been a few summer guild parties where we meed up irl and have fun and do stuff together outside wow.
I actually met my husband in WoW :D It started off as a friendship - I supported his application to my classic WoW raiding guild, and we used to do a lot of crazy things at level 60, like duoing Dire Maul ogre side for Librams. Good times. Anyway, our bond just continued to strengthen over time, and when I realized how much he meant to me, I found a job in his state and moved. We actually got married at Blizzcon this year, where I also had the opportunity to meet a handful of my guildies. They're like a family to me, so I invited them to the ceremony, and then we hung out all weekend at Blizzcon, and mini golfing and stuff. It was the best few days I've ever had. I miss them all very much - we still raid together and play together, but it's just not the same as being together physically. Here's hoping we'll be able to meet up again soon.
I met my first girlfriend turned best friend in the game. The friendships I've formed during my time in game are irreplaceable.
My current guild is a great group of people. We set up a FB group, and I quickly saw how well we get along IRL as we do in game. Some teams just click right, and the same goes with friends :)
I was questing i ungoro crater when i met a paladin that was questing also and we started to quest together and we have been friends ever since.
I actually met my now fiancé through WoW. We started talking a lot during our Firelands raids and hit it off really well, met and moved in together.
Back in Vanilla, I was raiding on my druid. I met a rogue named Dakelia in one of my MC groups. We became friends almost instantly, and raided together until we both took breaks. D and Dak were an inseperable team. We each got married, he got divorced and I have a child (separate partners obviously). I came back in Cata and he invited me to the guild he was in. We started raiding together again. I've since server swapped, but we still talk on realID and Facebook all the time.
My first love was a girl from my town. So I met her in WoW (tBC). :D We are not together now, but we are good friends.
I tend to take on a lot of things irl, without a lot of return. Which is frustrating, to be the dependable one, no one ever stops to consider that you might need some help too. I enjoy the camaraderie, and I know that when I ask for help running a low level toon through an old raid, 2 or 3 friends will speak up and help, and I do the same in return. I am thankful for my WoW friends, they take good care of me.
I started a friendship with my GM. We shared a lot of things in WoW :D
We were a 10-man core back in DS Hc time, when we killed Madness we meet at my home and cook a great "asado", that is like grilled meat but tastier, it's a typical argentinian food. It was great
My best friend met his girlfriend through wow. They were in the same guild and got to know each other through wow and on vent after they got done with the night's raid. I met her first online and got to know her a bit then he told me he was going to fly out to see her. To my surprise when he came back she was with him! They've been together for along time now and even have a beautiful little baby girl together and I gained a new friend through him and wow!
Cant say i have a great story about bonding'friendships in WoW. I can actually say that this game broke friendships, but, in the same time, the people i play with (guildies) are awesome people. We got stuck all together by mistake, but it seems that this "friendship" is working somehow, with all the %^&*!ing and "emo" sessions. Give mount! :D
