Not even surprised at the numbers of people who have completely missed the point of this news post just to jump on the "Ban them all" bandwagon. It really does show that there are so many who have zero clue nor understanding of what's really going on, instead they just focus on the wrong "fact" and never realize what's actually happening right in front of them!Nobody is saying the change in the ToS is bad, in fact it would seem that pretty much everyone agrees it's a good change. The problem is that the change was NEVER announced, so nobody knew about it, other than Blizzard's staff. Just remember what has happened here, and in 6 months, or 12 months, or whenever Blizzard makes yet another stealth change to the ToS that results in YOU getting banned for something you didn't know was no longer allowed, you'll have zero grounds to complain because you quietly agreed with what Blizzard have done this time! If the vast majority are silent about this stealth change to the ToS then Blizzard will simply assume that it's perfectly fine for them to make even more stealth changes to the ToS!Actually take some time to really think about this before you respond with "We don't care, it's good he got banned" because the next time Blizzard make a stealth ToS change it could result in YOU getting banned!
I would expect a manager to have the time to review the situation in a whole, if there is history on the account like he said there was, it would take more than 30 minutes to read it all... which just shows that this didn't happen. The situation should be reviewed, rather than just being silenced like you aren't a valuable customer. If you have a process, then it should be followed, silencing one account and banning another. Yeouch. What happens to that gold *cough* :D do the goblins find a way into the account? The new rules are great, I can clean out my ignore list finally. Just sorry for those that were treated unfairly.
Well it's not like he's the company selling boosts and raid clears for $125 usd RMT. They ban this guy and the RMTs are still there.
Long story short: you wanna advertise, ADVERTISE WITH THE CHARACTERS YOU 'PLAY' with. I see no problem with this too. Also, 'monopolization' of markets is 'bad' too, let others get some gold too heh? Some people get so addicted to these gold farming stuff that they end doing almost nothing else, that makes them enjoy the game. And why the h*** you need 2nd accounts nowadays, if not for getting some hard to get achievements, mostly? Those that pretty much no other player would spend time to help you (which are very small in number)? Even then, and depending on your server population, you might find it easier to create a group with others for it.I do agree with Ghormor, BLizz's people didn't 'Warn' the community ahead of time, yes, but even in old ToS, and if I'm not mistaken, there was one saying they 'could change things without ahead notice', and, afterall, it's THEIR game, we 'rent' accounts. In the end, try not doing ANYTHING that would make your accounts get banned (even using VPN or the like to get lower MS). But I still see some people don't care, get addicted to these stuff, get 'better' at it, and forget everything else.
Selling boost for gold: acceptable. Advertising on a bank account: unacceptable. They're going above and beyond to make this expac "alt friendly".
Great. Now I can report for advertisement even more
Seems like this dude uses his account just to spam trade chat... he got muted a ton of times, I fully trust that Blizzard did the right thing here, also remember that this type of story doesn't have all the facts.. We only get a one-sided story, Blizzard themself doesn't talk about bans.
I'm reporting every advertiser in trade chat from now on. This is great news.
Thank wowin god..
First multiboxers, now advertisers. Looks like a chain of great changes to fix the community.
i love it when ppl get banned for boosting then reading about how mad the person is when they get banned lol
